Welcome again, to Classmate Connections. I was thinking
that I shouldn't be bugging everyone for pictures if I was not
willing to share some myself. So Here's my contribution.
When you are a retired computer geek, 2 computers, 2 printers, a scanner, a nice monitor, a good comfortable chair and the time to play, is about everything a man could ask for.

But again, when you have two wonderful women to feed and take care of you, it's about as close to
heaven here on earth as you can get. Above are my Guardian Angels. On the left is my wife Muriel and
on the right her sister Jeannette.
Above is the view of the mountains to the southeast from our home. On
the right is a morning sunrise over the same mountains.
Here is the Snake River Canyon on the north edge of Twin Falls. The bridge which we cross
each time we go to Twin Falls is 450 feet above the river below. If you look carefully just
above the right of center of the bridge you can still see the earthen ramp where Evil Knievel
tried to cross the canyon with his jet powered cycle in 1974.
When I say friendly, I mean friendly. I was in front the house
cutting some big shrubs with a chain saw one day when a
neighbor driving by pulled into the drive and jumped out of
his pick up. He said, "that's hard work, come on over and
borrow my loader and some chain and you can pull them out
much easier." I couldn't refuse that offer and I was feeling like
a kid with a new electric train, only this one was 400 horse
power.
The people here in Idaho are really
friendly. They made us feel welcome
by naming a street after us.
In a couple of my email messages I refereed to Chariot Racing and several of you have asked what it was. In the winter, farming
and raising crops here in the north west comes to a stop. Many years ago the bored farmers began hooking their teams to sleds
and racing them on the snow covered ground. While there is still sled racing in some places, most enthusiasts have matured to
racing 2 wheel carts behind the teams. Here are some pictures of Magic Valley Chariot Racing. Friends of ours have 2 racing
teams and of course we root for them. The picture on the left shows the number 2 team near the finish line of the race. On the
right, on this day, the number 1 team had to race the number 2 team. As you can see the number 1 team on the left won.
Here are two of the horses that we pasture during the warmer weather.

Above is our home which is about 9 miles north of Twin Falls, Idaho. We are right in the middle of the "Magic Valley." The area is
considered high desert country. Without irrigation everything would be dry and brown and the land useless. The U.S.
Government along with some far thinking men planned and built a system of canals in the early nineteen hundreds that distribute
water from the Snake river. The result is one of the most beautiful green valleys you will find extending across all of southern
Idaho. We use some of that canal water to keep the grass green
